RIP our beautiful Chester
We had to make a really tough decision today. Our dog Chester has been going down hill. The vet told us about a month ago that he had a urinary tract infection, the cause of it could be from many things including liver failure. We put him on antibiotics and he seemed better for a while, but the last few days he had been turning up his nose at food even the good stuff, and he has been losing weight, and his legs and snout were swollen. At times he almost couldn't make it up our steps to come in. Our main living is on the second floor, a lot of steps for an old sick boy. Went back to the vet today and he confirmed Chester has liver failure. What a tough terrible decision it is to make. We don't want him to suffer, and he has been. We will miss you terribly Bubba and love you always. RIP Chester Field Lev 1998-2010, our wonderful dog with a great big loving heart.

It is a sad miss when something like this happens and there are no words that can ever get near to touching the pain and loss you feel. I lost my dog and running companion but there are days when I feel the wind by my side and know he runs the paths with me.
I absolutely believe that Ralph. Thank you for sharing. Tj.
Oh TJ...I am so sad to read to this and it makes me cry to see Chester's lovely photograph with his baby. We have three dogs, three cats, and I can't tell you how many times I've cried just knowing this day will be upon us not once, but six times over the next years. I love Ralph's sentiment.
Thanks Sherry, yep our animals are just like our kids huh. Hard times. Love them today cause you never know. Be well... Tj.
Our pets are such a part of our lives, and it is heart-breaking to lose them. My heart goes out to you.
I have pets too and it's so sad when one of them gone.
I'm from Spain and dont know how to say that: ánimo!
I can understand what you feel in these moments Tj. When I was 26 years old, my dog Chiki died after 14 years with me. It was one of the most sad days I had. I am sure there is a Heaven for dogs and I am sure also your sweet heart dog and mine will meet there. Be strong and keep it memories. Hugs from Spain.
Thanks everyone. We miss Chester terribly. Our home feels empty. He will always be loved.
So sorry for your loss! Our furry friends are indeed very dear!
Oh the sadness of this photo! regrets
